EU Open House Day 2019

Servus aus Österreich!
Hello from Austria!

Take a trip to the nation of mountains and music and discover the beauty of Austria! The country is famous for Mozart, The Sound of Music, and apple strudel, but has so much more to offer - in particular with regard to environmental protection! Did you know that Austria is the leading country in the European Union when it comes to organic farming? Over 20% of Austria’s agricultural land is farmed organically. For the sweet tooth, there even is organic chocolate, Zotter Schokolade, exported from Austria to the world.

Austria is also a front runner in the green electricity sector and in recycling - approximately 72% of the country’s electricity comes from renewable energy sources, and 63% of all our waste is recycled. The Viennese soccer team Rapid Wien even made a promotional video about it - have a look:

Come join us on May 11, 2019, for the EU Open House Day at the Austrian Embassy in Washington, DC. Chat with Embassy staff, sample Austrian delicacies like strudel, Zotter chocolate, and coffee, get to taste some Austrian wine and take part in a quiz about Austria throughout the day.

We are looking forward to welcoming you!

This is our winner of the EU Open House Day Quiz/Raffle! She won this amazing prize of a 6-Night Stay in vienna, Salzburg and Tirol.
