KEF Logo.png

The 13th annual Kids Euro Festival, a festival of European arts and culture, presented free activities to DC metro area children from age 2 to 12. With programs both for the general public and for school groups, more than 10,000 DC-area children and their families enjoy Kids Euro Festival each year. In 2020 an extended virtual festival with a full 6 weeks of online programming was available to families all over the world.

Austria's contribution was a virtual theater performance, PLANET SIS, recorded by “Dschungel Wien”, a theater for young people based in Vienna.

PERFORMANCE | PLANET SIS

In cooperation with the Austrian youth theater company Dschungel Wien we were delighted to present an online recorded version of the performance PLANET SIS. The original German life-performance was synchronized by the actresses themselves.

Who am I as an individual? Who am I in my family? Who am I with and without my sister? Why is she always stealing my clothes? Are there things about her that I don’t know? The connection between siblings is one of the strongest there is – regardless of whether the relationship is good or difficult. Siblings are always connected to one another.

In the theater performance “Planet Sis”, the two actresses and sisters Donna and Rosa meet on stage and create a personal, dynamic and musical interaction. Between the two poles of synchronicity and autonomy they are searching for dialogue: in words, movement and sound.

The two performers are highly professional, lovable, in a wonderful way self-ironic, in dance and music both on the top. The performance is dramatically well prepared, and makes a real, eye to eye discussion with their young audience possible. Because the fresh, courageous, and moving Planet Sis turns the hearts of the audience, it’s a must see.
