CHRISTMAS EVE

The ACF DC is a proud supporter of the ExPats Theatre Production of "Christmas Eve" by Daniel Kehlmann.
ExPatsTheatre, founded by Karin Rosnizeck in 2019, brings international dramatic works to DC that are thought-provoking, provide a fresh perspective, and offer a platform for audience engagement. This new play is set on Christmas Eve as a philosophy professor is stopped by a veteran law enforcement officer who accuses her of planting a bomb that will explode at midnight. The investigator confronts the professor with what he sees as incriminating evidence, which the accused dismisses as overly-aggressive law enforcement and paranoia about an academic who is critical about the government. The production raises important questions regarding terrorism, the rule of law, surveillance, civil liberties, and police conduct.
