Austria and Slovakia are neighboring countries located in Central Europe. Their capitals, Vienna and Bratislava, are connected by one of the main European water ways, the Danube. The two countries are not only neighbors in Europe, but their Embassies are located next to each other in DC! Join us on EU Open House Day 2022, discover what our countries have to offer, learn about the people and their languages, and enjoy a taste of Austria and Slovakia inside and outside the Embassy buildings!

Our doors will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with family friendly activities for kids, and fun for adults, as well as many ideas for your next trip to Austria!

• Klaus Wittauer Austrian Wine Seminar: Enjoy a wine tasting with Klaus Wittauer, an expert in, and importer of Austrian wines, which he describes as "unique and exceptional". Please sign up for the wine seminars at 12:00pm or 2:30pm.

• Little Austria Sweet & Savory Strudel: Two Austrians, Berni and Helene, the founders of Little Austria, craft what is the most popular dessert in Austria: the Strudel!

• Pfanner Hard Cider Tasting: This family owned business was founded in Austria over 160 years ago and is dedicated to tradition, perfection and passion for apples!

• Julius Meinl Coffee and Tea Station: Founded in 1862, Julius Meinl is one of the oldest coffee roasters in the world and an iconic Vienna coffee house brand.

• Red Bull Energy Drink: Founded in Austria, it has been giving wings and ideas to people since 1987.

• Manner Wafer Cookies: These sweets are a beloved favorite of Austrians and have become a symbol of Viennese culture and lifestyle around the world.

Masks are required at all times for all guests regardless of vaccination status during the open house inside the Embassy of Austria.
